Sunday Lucky Sunday

The metro is amazing. It is functional in the same and ubiquitous way that NY's subway is, and it is also totally modern and sleek. It's all shiny and computerized with automated screens in each car providing location updates, and it's easy enough for most any fool to use; even I didn't get lost. On my return metro trip I managed to evade my first pickpocket. (An unfortunate Asian kid with a fanny pack (or an Asian kid with an unfortunate fanny pack) got it instead.) With my luck up (and it is 10/10/10 after all), I may grab an EU loteria ticket. The most recent winner won the largest single jackpot in Europe ever and is now the 798th wealthiest person in the world.

From my first day out and about, the city feels a lot like San Francisco and looks a lot like Buenos Aires. I liked this random building, in particular the window/balcony facades. Near my apartment, there is a big park, and there was a carnival yesterday. Among other rides, like the "Party House" (who doesn't like a good party house?) was a bucking bull carousel'ish thing. I thought Homer working the bull was too funny not to snap up.
