My Legs Know Las Ramblas

I spent the day walking Las Ramblas which is an extensive drag that is the sum of five different avenues which eventually culminates at the Port (de la pau). I initially set out to find MACBA which I totally failed at doing. However, my exploration by foot proved totally entertaining in so many ways, including leading me to one of the most amazing art exhibits I've seen.

I happened upon a Dali exhibit which I skipped the first time past because it looked like a poster store. Not so I realized on my second time around (I did lots of circles and semi-circles today). I got inside to find 7 or 8 rooms entirely devoted to Salvador Dali's work as well as an extensive photography [of him] collection.

Typically, I like looking at Dali's stuff in moderation and have had a distant appreciation for it. Something about it being en mass (anything of his that isn't in a museum elsewhere is in this exhibit, and he was massively prolific, I gather) made it vastly more fascinating and engaging.

One room had all paintings featuring horses. I took the pic of the Trojan Horse because a) I liked it and b) I knew I could remember the title. I also really liked the room dedicated to 100 watercolors that he was commissioned to do when Dante's Divine Comedy turned 700 years old. There was one room behind a red velvet curtain that just flat out scared me. There was also an installation that is a recreation of a giant piece he did for a festival, Las Fallas, in San Jose [,Spain].

Two big thumbs up for Dali's pseudo fun house.
