I hit the beach today. For someone who doesn't hit the beach that is two blocks from her house, this is big news in and of itself; the fact that it was Mediterranean beach is the actual news. Not to be deterred by my misdirectional adventures the other day, I got back on the horse for an out of city limits excursion. Valencia's metro is similar to San Francisco's MUNI in its above and below ground intersetions. I took the 5 car all the way to the port which is el fin de linea, "Neptu".

Hotels line (at least this part of) the beach, and it was pretty quiet at 11:30am despite the beautiful sunshiny day.

Just outside of the port, BMW Oracle has a building because the BMW Oracle yacht-racing team practices out of Valencia. (This pic, unfortunately, is not mine.) I'd be down for a ride on that race yacht.

Outside of enjoying the glorious weather and taking pictures of myself, there wasn't much else going on at the beach (must send that BMW Oracle email stat...although, that might be like cheating on Goodyear), so I made my way back to the center of town and enjoyed another extended sidewalk lunch.
It is my last night in Valencia, and I am hopping the train for Madrid tomorrow morning. So, sandwich and beer take away + packing + ipod = private dance party in my hotel room (socks on marble and two big mirrors, you know it's serious, and you can blast Journey in any country--JayZ too for that matter.)
